Washed Red Bourbon, lot 1052 out of Kanya. Raspberry and citrus up front, toffee apple just behind, settling towards chocolate gâteau as the cup cools.

Rwandan coffee has a reputation for being sharp. This one has the acidity and enough sugar underneath to carry it — but if you want something that sits quietly in a flat white and asks nothing of you, the Nicaragua does that better.

Provenance

Lot FSC-8395 · Red Bourbon · washed · GrainPro-lined 60kg sack · imported by Falcon Coffees · roasted in London.

Quote that lot reference to the importer and they'll tell you the same story we're telling you.

How we'd brew it

Espresso: 18g in, 44g out, 28 seconds.
V60: 18g dose, 300g water at 94°C, 2:45 total — washed coffee takes the heat.

Best within four weeks of the roast date printed on your bag.
