The Short List
Three coffees, 100g of each, chosen by us. One that behaves itself, one that doesn't, and one in between — enough of a spread that you'll know which way you lean by the end of it.
The line at the top of our homepage says one bag you like beats three you don't. This is how you find the one. Three hundred grams is about twenty cups, which is enough to form an opinion and not enough to regret it.
What arrives
Three 100g bags, each labelled with its lot reference, tasting notes and roast date — the same information as a full bag, in miniature. Plus a note on what to look for in each, and which of the three we'd have put money on you preferring.
We pick the three. If you already know what you like, buy the bag instead — it's better value per gram, and we'd rather you had the coffee you wanted.
How we'd brew it
Whole bean is the default, so you can grind each one to suit it.
Espresso: 18g in, 44g out, 28 seconds.
V60: 18g dose, 300g water at 93°C, 2:45 total.
Best within four weeks of the roast date printed on your bags.
